Henley & Partners, a London-based travel company, has published a ranking of passports for 2023. CNN said on Tuesday that the study places the Pakistani passport among the top five worst passports out of 109 nations.


Only 35 of the 227 travel destinations on the list, including Syria (25 destinations), Iraq (29 destinations), and Afghanistan, grant admission to Pakistani passport holders without a visa or with one upon arrival (27 destinations).

In contrast, India does far better than Pakistan and is ranked 85th, according to a recently published quarterly report by the London-based company.


Henley places the Japanese passport at the top of the list of passports that grant passport holders and citizens freedom of movement.


The top three strongest passports in the world are all issued by Asian nations. The Japanese passport allows its bearer the largest degree of international travel flexibility, followed by Singaporean and South Korean passports.


Japanese passport holders are eligible for visa-free or visa-on-demand entry into an incredible 193 nations worldwide. As citizens of these states are permitted to travel freely to 192 other countries, Singapore and South Korea follow suit.

Afghan passport holders can enter only 27 countries without a visa or with one upon arrival, placing it at the bottom of the list.
